New Manager For The Manor House Gosforth

Pam Gould has been appointed manager at The Manor House care home in Gosforth, part of Hadrian Healthcare Group.

Pam began her career as a registered general nurse at Newcastle General Hospital in 1974, and has worked on wards and in operating theatres in the UK and New Zealand. She is also a qualified social worker specialising in older persons’ care and mental health. Before moving into the care home sector Pam was a staff nurse at St Oswald’s Hospice.

Pam has been a nursing officer in the territorial army with the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps for 30 years, and a visiting tutor in social work at Northumbria University.

Pam said: “We have a fabulous environment here at The Manor House and I’m looking forward to getting to know all the residents and their relatives.

“I’m passionate about staff training and development to provide the best person-centred care possible, and that is the Hadrian philosophy too.”

Jas Gill, managing director of Hadrian Healthcare Group said: “We’re delighted to welcome Pam to the company. She has first class experience across the board and is very well qualified to lead the team at Gosforth.”

The Manor House opened in 2010 providing residential and dementia care for elderly people. The Chesters accommodation - which is specifically designed for people with dementia and other memory impairments to be homely, safe and stimulating - has just been extended to the whole of the first floor.

Hadrian Healthcare Group holds the Investors in People Silver award.
