Hadrian Healthcare Chairman Scoops Business Award

Ian Watson, Chairman and owner of Hadrian Healthcare Group, received the accolade ‘North East Entrepreneur of the Year 2014’ at an awards dinner held at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead hosted by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum.

On receiving his award Ian said: “I am delighted to receive this myself and also on behalf of all our team at Hadrian Healthcare.”

The group currently employ over 600 staff operating from ten locations around the North of England.

He went on to say: “We have been on an extraordinary journey over the past seven years in re-establishing the Hadrian operation and unique brand of high quality care, after the company was sold by me in 2006. We have invested around £50 million to create our new centres and we have innovated to ensure we are providing a level of accommodation which is far superior to anything currently available.  Our investment continues with a further two centres which are currently underway in Leeds and North Yorkshire.”

Staff will soon increase to nearly 800 people when the new centres are open before the end of 2015.

“Notwithstanding our unique levels of investment in our new centres, I am without doubt most proud of the high standard of care the team have developed,” Ian continued.

“Our core ethos is to provide the highest standards of person-centred care to each of our residents and on that we offer no negotiation. Our staff training development and staff retention are at record high levels and this is, and will always be, our pathway to ensuring personal care delivery is of the highest possible standards.”

Ian also went on to congratulate the wider team of Hadrian who have helped in the development of the new portfolio of new homes - building contractors Walter Thompson Ltd and JW Lowry Ltd, solicitors Muckles LLP, accountants Baker Tilly and the Yorkshire Bank and Handelsbanken.
