Sun Shines for Summer Fayre at The Manor House

Residents, family, friends and the local community enjoyed the annual Summer Fayre at The Manor House, Barnard Castle on Saturday 15 August.

The famous Barnard Castle Brass Band provided the entertainment throughout the afternoon with a selection of well loved tunes whilst people tucked into freshly baked cream teas and cakes from The Manor House’s own kitchen. Local art and craft stalls selling a wide range of gifts from scented candles to jewellery included Holly Cottage Crafts, Waxarama and Maggies Crafts. Helen Ford, a carer at The Manor House, also displayed items from her Cute as a Button Arts range.

Nicky Morse, lifestyle coordinator at The Manor House said: “Our Summer Fayre is a great opportunity to share our gardens and catering with local people. And the weather was very kind!

“The band gave the fayre a real garden party atmosphere and we’d like to thank them for taking time to visit us. We’d also like to thank the host of businesses in the town who generously provided many fabulous donations for the raffle.”

Costa Coffee, Morrisons, Teesdale Mercury, Barnard Castle Post Office, The Three Horseshoes, Boots, Star Cobblers, Glendale Ginger, 54 Degrees North outdoor clothing, Galgate News, Adalucia gift shop, The Hayloft health food shop, Kenneally’s Hair Salon, The Beauty Boutique, JR Holland Food Services, Tyneside Foods and the Warm Age Wood Company provided prizes for the raffle.
