Animal stories delight residents at The Manor House Barnard Castle

Some unusual guests have made a visit to The Manor House care home in Barnard Castle, to the delight of the residents who met them.

Hoot the southern white-faced Scops owl, a tiger salamander named Sam and a French Lop rabbit called Molly to name a few were accompanied by handler Martyn from Teesside-based animal experience company Animal Story.

“Martyn talked about each of the animals and how they live in the wild which was really interesting,” commented Catherine Howard, lifestyle coordinator at The Manor House.

The session was one of a wide variety of activities and trips which are organised to suit the particular interests of the residents at The Manor House, and often involve the local community.
