Fun at The Manor House Knaresborough Summer Fete

The Manor House care home in Knaresborough welcomed special guests of honour the Mayor and Mayoress of Knaresborough Councillor David Goode and Catherine Goode to their annual summer fete on Saturday 12 August which was heartily and loudly opened by the Town Crier, Roger Hewitt.

Residents and visitors of all ages enjoyed activities such as hook-a-duck and hoopla, facepainting and archery.

There were stalls selling books, cosmetics, fashion accessories and crafts as well a cake stall with a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition, a tombola and raffle. Homemade refreshments including scones and jam from The Manor House were on offer too and singers Bluebird Entertainment provided the afternoon’s music.

“We also had a stall for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity to help raise much-needed funds for this excellent cause,” said Joanne Meredith, lifestyle coordinator at The Manor House.

“It was lovely to see so many people enjoying the event and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who came.”
