Mrs Mari Garside celebrated her 100th birthday on 28 December at The Manor House care home in Knaresborough.
Family and friends joined Mari for a party with entertainment and a delicious homemade afternoon tea.
Mari has two daughters, three granddaughters and six great grandchildren. She was born in Brighouse and moved to Leeds as a teenager. Later Mari married, and during the war she worked on electrical wiring for planes at Yeadon. Mari’s interests included playing bowls as a member of Middleton Park Bowling Club, and she was a keen ballroom dancer. She now loves listening to music.
Paula Caliskan, manager of The Manor House said: “We’re delighted and very proud to be celebrating this very special birthday with Mari.”
