Award Winning Watercolour Skills at The Manor House Whickham

The watercolour class at The Manor House Whickham has won an award for their dedication to improving their artistic skills.

They were awarded the second prize in the Learning for Life category of Gateshead Council’s learningSkills awards, and the award plaque will be displayed at The Manor House.

Krysta Bruynson, lifestyle coordinator at The Manor House said: “The class consists of around 10 residents who meet each week with art tutor Bernard Quinn. They are really focussed on improving their skills. It’s a challenging, rewarding and enjoyable session.

“The group attended the award ceremony and had fun at the party too. Everyone is really delighted with the award.”

The learningSkills awards celebrate the achievements of learners aged 16+ who are involved in Gateshead Council’s learning programmes, from apprenticeships to leisure and craft courses.
