Catwalking with The Bowes Museum

Residents at The Manor House Barnard Castle have had an insight into the glamorous world of fashion photography and a sneak peek at some of the photos from ‘Catwalking: Fashion through the Lens of Chris Moore’, the new exhibition opening soon (7 July) at the famous Bowes Museum.

Julia Dunn, education learning coordinator for The Bowes, led the session at The Manor House which involved discussion of the photographs and modelling a fabulous white feather shawl from the museum’s handling collection.

“It was such a fun and interesting session, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it,” commented Catherine Howard, lifestyle coordinator at The Manor House.

“This is the third time The Bowes’ team have visited The Manor House with different activities. We have a museum membership and go on regular trips there too, and residents have already asked when they are going to see the exhibition.”

The session was the first in a new series of outreach visits by The Bowes Museum, supported by Darlington Building Society.
