The Manor House Gosforth Rated ‘Outstanding’

The Manor House Gosforth has been awarded an ‘outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced inspection.

The home is owned and operated by Hadrian Healthcare Group and this is the company’s second outstanding home rating [in less than six months].

Suzanne Mason, home manager of The Manor House said: “We are all absolutely delighted by the inspectors’ assessment.

“Our staff work proactively as a team, and each person is totally committed to delivering the best possible care and lifestyle for our residents just as we would for members of our own families.”

The CQC report says that feedback from residents and those close to them was remarkably consistent and exceptionally positive.

Hilary Lawrenson, who lives at The Manor House said: “I am not surprised that The Manor House has been rated outstanding, I think all staff including management are outstanding themselves!

“Nothing is a problem. The environment is beautiful, comfortable and bedrooms are superb. I enjoy all aspects of living here and I am delighted I made the decision to make the move, possibly the best decision I’ve made.”

The report also notes the large variety of stimulating and engaging activities taking place. These range from therapeutic sessions and virtual reminiscence to regular visits by a local historian and other opportunities for involvement with the local community such as the weekly reading club, where school children read with or are helped to learn to read by people living at The Manor House.

The Manor House Gosforth opened in 2010 and provides residential, dementia and respite care. The CQC report is available to read here.

Hadrian Healthcare Group currently owns and operates two care homes in the North East, in Whickham and Gosforth. The Manor House Whickham achieved CQC outstanding rating in September 2019.

The Group sold five homes in Yorkshire and County Durham in July 2019. These are now operated by Anchor Hanover Group and owned by Aviva Investors.
