Hadrian Healthcare Acquires Harrogate Site

Hadrian Healthcare Group is expanding its portfolio of luxury elderly care homes with the acquisition of a prestigious site in Harrogate.

The site is the former Alexander Court Nursing Home on the Duchy Estate. The neighbouring Rutland Drive was recently named Yorkshire’s most expensive street.

Ian Watson, chairman of Hadrian Healthcare Group said “We have been seeking a presence in Harrogate for some time now and we are delighted to have secured such a wonderful site.

“We will be investing £10 million in redevelopment and new build. We are very excited about creating what we believe will be the highest quality of elderly accommodation and care facility anywhere in the UK.

“We will be making further announcements soon which will include details of our new ideas for the delivery and provision of the very highest standard of personal care services.”

The Harrogate development complements the group’s existing home in Wetherby which opened in 2013 and two new homes in Knaresborough and Leeds which are currently under construction and due to open later this year together creating around 150 new jobs.
